ECA is supporting the Southern African Power Pool and the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in delivering a five-day training program on integrated resource planning (IRP). Unusually the training program is oriented not to practitioners but to decision makers in order for them to fully appreciate the importance integrated electricity planning and how to get the most from an IRP process. It will cover the rationale and best practice in developing an IRP, high level training on IRP tools, interpretation of results and IRP implementation processes.
